Thomas Tierney

Thomas composed the music for NARNIA, based on C.S. Lewis’ The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, which played at The City of London Festival and Off-Broadway, as well as at many theatres throughout the US and the world. His "Narnia Suite" for orchestra and four singers was performed at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall. He wrote both music and lyrics for JUNGLE QUEEN DEBUTANTE, which played in Seattle and New York’s Broadway Dozen, and for several songs in PETS!, the off-Broadway revue. He wrote the music for Tommy Tune’s one-man show ICHABOD and for THE DREAM TEAM at the Goodspeed Opera House (also with lyricist John Forster). ELEANOR has played at Virginia’s historic Barter Theatre as well as the Ford’s Theatre in Washington, DC and many others throughout the US. Theatreworks/USA has toured six of his shows nationally, including FIRST LADY, which was performed at the White House and THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE, now in its 14th season.  Other projects include the musical adaptation of the nationally syndicated comic strip, "Zach Hill" and a film musical based on the classic children’s book At the Back of the North Wind by George MacDonald. For television, he composed scores for two episodes of NBC’s Emmy Award winning series Unicorn Tales and the theme music for We Remember Eleanor, narrated by Margaret Truman Daniels. His many corporate projects include AT&T’s theme song at Disney’s EPCOT Center. Four of his plays are published and he is listed in Who’s Who In Entertainment. Thomas has won numerous ASCAP awards, is a member of the Dramatists Guild and the N.Y. Television Academy, for which he has served on the Board of Governors.
